VMI and CSNOW (Network of Women in Computer Science) visit the Adventure Park Rheinfall. This ropepark offers a wide range of playful parcours, like a panorama parcour with a gorgeous view over the Rheinfall, easy parcours for enjoying and getting used to being up in the air and challenging parcours for those who want to have some adrenalin kicks. We will stay in the ropepark for about 3 hours. Afterwards we will take a short walk to take a closer look at the spectacular Rheinfall which is Switzerlands biggest waterfall and find a nice location to take some refreshing drinks.
When and where?
On Saturday, 1st of July, we take the S9-train departing at 9:07 at Zurich HB and will arrive in Neuhausen Rheinfall at 9:57 (you should buy a ticket yourself). We will meet on the platform in or infront of the first waggon (travel direction) at 9 am. We should be back in Zürich in the late afternoon.
Who can participate?
All scientific staff of the CS department (PhD students, postdocs, research assistants, senior scientists). No experience with ropeparks is required. Please register, then we can contact you for further information or in case of very bad weather. We can only ensure spots for the first 15 people to sign up. If more people sign up, we will try to extend our reservation.
What to bring?
Bring some lunch and water. Further recommandation: Wear trekking shoes or sneakers and light, confortable clothes adjusted to the weather. Long hair should be tied together in the park.
You need to pay for transportation which is around 23 CHF (assuming you have halbtax). The entrance fee to the park is covered by VMI and CSNOW.
